A Hollywood bad boy. A pastor’s daughter.
What could possibly go wrong?
Movie star Ben Prescott arrives back in Hollywood after causing a scandal with his ex-girlfriend in Rome.
Chased through the airport by paparazzi, he jumps into a limo hoping for a quick getaway. Instead he finds Lily Shaw, a pastor’s daughter and preschool teacher. When the paparazzi capture a photo of the two of them together, Ben’s agent demands that he do whatever it takes to keep the story from hitting the gossip pages . . . even volunteer to work at Lily’s church.
Sparks fly as the movie star and the pastor’s daughter work side by side. When Lily accompanies Ben to the premiere of his latest movie, Hollywood takes notice. Under intense media scrutiny and pressure from the movie industry, Ben must risk his career to follow his heart, but Lily wants the one thing he doesn’t have, faith.
Mission Hollywood is an inspirational story about love, faith, and second chances.
I have no words to describe how amazing this book is. I think my pupils were in the shape of a heart nearly the whole time. The message in this book was so heart warming and powerful. Redemption stories are my favorite.
The characters were probably my favorite part of this whole book. Lily was a fabulous character and I loved getting to see her grow and be a light in Ben’s life. Speaking of Ben, he was an amazing male character whom I love so much. His development and his character growth throughout this book had me almost in tears. It was so heart warming to see him change and evolve into the man God wanted him to be.
The side characters were also amazing. I would love to meet Noah, Mr. Shaw, and Chris. It would be so cool to just sit and talk for a while. They were just so amazing.
The plot is a bit cliche but done so well. Usually bad boy and good girl romances I have mixed feelings about but this one was done pretty much perfectly. The bad boy turned good because of the Holy Spirit not the girl. 😉 God’s the only one who can really change us. He may use other people but it’s Him behind the scenes! I was hooked on this book by page one and it did not let me go until the very last page.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I will definitely be picking up more of Ms. Keener book later on.
