What if you not only fell back through time…but fell in love, too?
Gabi knows she’s left her heart in the fourteenth century, and she persuades Lia to help her to return, even though they know doing so will risk their very lives. When they arrive, months have passed, and all of Siena longs to celebrate the heroines who turned the tide in the battle against Florence–while their enemies will go to great lengths to see them dead.
Even in the midst of the battles, Gabi is increasingly drawn to Marcello, just as Lia’s is to Luca. In medieval Italy, the sisters must discover things inside themselves that they couldn’t seem to find in the present–connection with their mom, courage within, and the understanding that a life well lived often means encountering sacrifice. But in a world long past, many things still keep Gabi from giving Marcello her heart forever…and one thing in particular calls all three of the Betarrinis home.
Yup, it’s official…. I LOVE this series!! I honestly don’t know how to start this review! This book is so good that I don’t think I can capture it in words! Personally I think that this book is better than the first one. I love both books, but this one had more action and adventure then the first one. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
All the plot twists and things that happened throughout this book kept me reading and not wanting to put down. It literally pained me to put this book down, not knowing what is going to happen to Gabi, Lia, Luca, and Marchello. It was really fun re-reading this because I had forgotten so much that happened in this book. The ending was the only thing that I honestly remembered from this book. Everything else was really fun to re-read.
I loved seeing the development of all the characters and my heart ached for them throughout their many trials that they faced. Mrs. Bergren knows how to write books that keep you hooked. I had to force myself not to stay up too late last night so I could get sleep before school. Ughhh, I just love this series so much. I wish there were more time travel books in Christian Fiction. Can we please petition for more?!?
